Hugh Plunkett, Minister of Music
Music is perhaps the most universal method through which humans worship God. Music provides an opportunity to attune our hearts to the heart of God and experience a connection to Him, whether by singing, playing instruments, or by listening.
Listed below are the schedules for choirs and ensembles. If you are interested in participating, you will find a warm welcome and an opportunity for service in our choirs.
Sanctuary Choir Choir Notes
Rehearsal on Wednesdays at 6:45 p.m. in the music suite
Director – Hugh Plunkett
The Sanctuary Choir sings each Sunday morning during the 11:00 a.m. worship service and also presents special musical events several times a year accompanied by orchestra.
Youth Choir
For 7th through 12th grades
Rehearsals on Sundays at 5:00 p.m. in the music suite
Director – Hugh Plunkett
The Youth Choir sings as scheduled in the worship services.
Children's Choirs
Rehearsal on Wednesdays from 6:00 p.m. until 6:45 p.m.
1) 3 & 4 year olds
Director - Dana Monk and Kathy Herrin
2) Music Makers I – for K5 through 1st grade
Director - Betsy Griffith
Rehearsals are on the second floor of the education building.
3) Music Makers II – for 2nd through 3rd grades
Director - Emily Knight
Rehearsals are on the second floor of the education building.
4) Young Musicians – for 4th through 6th grades
Director - Carolyn Young
Rehearsals are on the second floor of the education building.
The combined children's choirs present a Christmas musical each year, and each choir presents a musical in the spring. They also sing as scheduled in the worship services.
Legacy Ensemble
This ensemble is by audition. The members are Kandee Molaison, Tracey Pace, Dana Monk and Carolyn Young.
Handbells
Rehearsal on Wednesdays at 5:00 p.m. in the music suite
Director - Cheryl Barnes
The Handbell Choir plays in the worship services as scheduled.
